Remembering 2016, looking forward to 2017
A couple of weeks ago I returned from my annual winter adventures in Baxter. I was delighted to return in time to enjoy a week full of snow! After digging out from the recent snowstorms, the recent reprieve from winter’s grip seems like a well earned gift. Last weekend, as the temperatures topped the low 50s, Denise and I snowshoed along a stretch of the Kennebec River. It’s a favorite section of the Kennebec, one I frequently fish during Maine’s other season. Rivers are alluring to me regardless of the season, yet that recent outing made me long for the return of warm summer days. There is no doubt wading the Kennebec in shorts and sandals in pursuit of smallmouth bass will have to wait, but it is a perfect opportunity to relive the 2016 fishing season through some of my favorite photographs. I hope you enjoy them too.
